East Kilbride people took to the streets this Saturday to raise awareness about a secret deal with the USA that is set to hand more power to big corporations. Campaigners say the deal could lower our environment, food and working standards to dangerous American levels if passed. It could also give big businesses the privilege to sue the government in secret courts if British laws dent their profits. The day of action in East Kilbride was part of a nationwide effort coordinated by independent campaign group 38 Degrees.

The South Lanarkshire Greens are gearing up for next year's Holyrood election! We aim to get at least one (preferably two) of our regional candidates elected. To achieve this we are organising our Central Scotland Regional Campaign: planning stalls, public meetings, media events, fundraising activities and electoral canvassing. But winning will be a challenge, and so we need all the help we can get.
