Kirsten Robb, our lead candidate for the Central Scotland Holyrood list 2016, was in the Daily Record calling for South Lanarkshire Council to address the unacceptable air pollution levels at the Whirlies roundabout in East Kilbride.

The Daily Record reports that more than 3,500 people die every year from air pollution in Scotland. How many deaths are caused by air pollution in South Lanarkshire if its 3500 in Scotland? With air quality breaching health limits in East Kilbride, Rutherglen and now Lanark, how many more people have to die before our Councillors say anything about this issue?
South Lanarkshire Greens have been calling on the council to deal with air pollution for seven years now and very little action has been taken. With £100 million being spent on new roads through the 'City Deal' projects - funded by money from Westminster, Scottish Government and our council, air pollution is going to get worse.
