Greens welcome Hyndford Quarry decision

 Clydesdale Greens have welcomed Scottish Government's decision to turn down an application to extend Hyndford Quarry in Lanark into the buffer zone of the New Lanark World Heritage site.

Clydesdale Green activist Janet Moxley said "The western extension to Hyndford Quarry would be hugely damaging to the New Lanark site and destroy a beautiful area of landscaped park land. Scottish Government has made the right decision on this application, and we applaud the efforts of Prof Mark Stephens and the Save our Landscapes group to protect this area.
