Greens are condemning further fare increases from 1st April on the 100 series Edinburgh to Dumfries routes through Clydesdale. This will be the third fare rise on the route in the last year. Fares rose by 10 %
A grant of £261,600 from Scottish Government's Green Bus II fund towards the purchase of low emission hybrid buses for use on the 100 series Edinburgh to Dumfries/Moffat/Annan services has been lost because of delays in the tendering process for the route.
Clydesdale needs a high quality public transport network not just for local people to use, but also to allow people to visit and enjoy the area.
