South Lanarkshire Greens are worried that cuts to frontline social services could leave vulnerable people at risk. From 20th June, Social Work reception teams will be pulled out of the South Vennel area office and relocated to a call centre in Hamilton. This means that people needing to contact social services for the first time will no longer be able to have face to face contact with the a social worker and social work staff will not longer be able to make home visits as part of the initial assessment process.

Working with the public is a major perk of both of my jobs as it allows me to interact with people from all walks of life on a day to day basis.
Land rights campaigner Andy Wightman will be speaking on the Common Good assets of former Burghs such as Biggar, how and how to find out what these are and ensure that they are used to benefit local communities. SLC says Biggar has no Common Good Assets we believe that it does as the Public Park and the Burnbraes as well as some other sites would seem to meet the criteria.
Visit the many museums in the Biggar area and experience a day of activities.
